My Interview with Richard Hays on the Bible and Sexuality (Video)

The New Testament scholar responded to feedback on his new book The Widening of God's Mercy.

Several months ago, I asked Dr. Richard Hays if he would come to the CenterPeace Conference this year as a keynote speaker. He was quite interested from the start, but wasn’t sure he could commit. He was grappling with the impact of a recurrence of cancer. I told him, it was fine if he needed to play it by ear and make a last minute decision. And sure enough, he made it. For that I will always be grateful.

Not only did Dr. Hays give a lovely keynote address, but I also had the opportunity to interview him for an hour about how he decided to become a biblical scholar, what he would say to critics of his new book The Widening of God’s Mercy, and what he hopes his legacy will be.
